Case's Smart Trainer: from hand-me-down to maiden flight

Someone gave Case a broken Dynam Smart Trainer. He rebuilt it himself and flew it for the first time.

Case was given a Dynam Smart Trainer by somebody who was done with it. It was not ready to fly. It needed a new ESC, a new receiver and new landing gear, and the elevator needed repairs, along with a list of smaller fixes.

Case took it on and got it all fixed up himself.

The maiden flight

Then came the big moment: the first flight on the rebuilt plane. Case lined it up on the runway, rolled it out and climbed it into the sky.

It flew. He was super excited about it, and the grin at the end of the video says it all.

What he replaced

  • ESC (electronic speed control)
  • Receiver
  • Landing gear
  • Elevator repairs
  • Plus the smaller fixes that come with any hand-me-down plane
